Ron Burford shares his experience during the COVID-19 pandemic in Madison. He talks about how the early months of the pandemic affected his mental health and forced him to deal with underlying emotions and trauma. He speaks about building up a network of community support, including his writing group through the UW Odyssey program, who supported him through writing his forthcoming book on sexual trauma. Ron also reflects on what self care means for him as a Black man in the midst of both a global pandemic and the aftermath of George Floyd's murder.
