Brian Benford shares his experience during the COVID-19 pandemic in Madison. He describes the experience of running a grassroots campaign for Wisconsin State Senate in August 2020, and how the pandemic influenced both his decision to run and his community-driven approach. He shares his perspective on how the pandemic has illuminated long-standing inequities in the community and in state and local government. He reflects on the challenges of this time as well as his feelings of hope, inspiration, and belief in emerging leaders.
